Well, it was not really a surprise to us that the horn without the phase plug was dissapointing. Without the plug we had a horn that was a bit too short, had too large front cavity and less compression than we desired.
It...

user="jackydai"]My basic point is: the flare rate has to be coherent
right from the entrance of phase plugs. In this sense, not even Bruce and Sam
did it right, I’m afraid to say. In many cases the driver and the horn are
designed by diffe...

Zero phase filtering would not require a reference: the signal is just run through the filter in forward and reverse. But there is another filter to consider here, a physiological filter - presbyacusis - that means Yamamura's hearing threshold above ...

I bet Yamamura is using non-causal filtering... this is all running off a music server, so could process everything offline. This makes it possible to do forward-backward filtering - you run the filtered signal "backwards" through the original filter...

i found the Fujitsu ten team (Eclipse co) brand new.they have paid the desired attention to subject.http://www.coherent-audio.de/download/e_TD712z_Catalog.pdfthey dont refer their technics in baffle assembly is correcting time domain(phase)but surely...

I forget if you started out by setting the phase and level(s) of your ULF with DSP to begin with. Not to cave in to herd mentality, but it might be "worth it" to rent a DSP/D (servo) amp(s) combo to play with. If nothing else, that amp has to modulat...

New member, first post, so go easy on me!Ive been playing around with clocks in digital audio for a while. Current system uses a DCS Scarlatti stack with the Scarlatti clock. Synching to the Scarlatti clock rather than using the Scarlatti DAC as mast...

Hello,This is my first post to this site, which I have been absorbing for over a year.A horn project that I have been considering would include either a 1 inch or 1.5 inch throat compression driver into a Tractrix profile horn of which I have not yet...

I suspect that your negative views about on axis listening due to sensitivity to listening position must be to some narrow angle on axis frequency anomaly of the driver/horns you tried. If you insist to use chromatic aberration as a working hypnosis!!...

I wouldn´t talk about "wrong polarity", rather about "dislike of the resulting harmonic spectrum". Wonder how the result would be with phase-correct FIR filters for the RED....
Are there any signs for worsened transient response of your midbass channel due to the sharp electrical filtering?
Nothing that I note. The transient response of your midbass channel is a bit tricky thing as the way how...
Putting The Mid Bass horns behind your head will not work. This thread was about Mid Bass Horns Project, do you thank you will be able to use any frequency above 80 cycles with rear fired horns that are behind your head? Tha...

I suspect that the 8" and 5" cones and 1" compression driver are in the Danley Signature Synergy multiple entry horn. This creates a physically phase aligned point source above 45 Hz and probably a bunch of diffraction. The double 15" woofers are an ...
Thanks Romy. On the AC polarity do you mean playing with the player/amp polarity or with the PP one? I always try to have all devices to be in phase.Denis
I tried all the options on the polarity last day and it appeared this ...

I believe that the Arum Cantus is typical of most ribbons in mirroring one of the principal failings of MC cartridges, a rising top end (over 20k), although I have not actually heard this - at all - with my own small Arum Cantus, and I just go n...

You're using a phase plug? Why? To try to get it to go higher? If using parallel drivers, and doubling Sd, it may be necessary to change throat area to not damage drivers... The third design type sounds quite differe...

But aren't the vented ports out of phase with the horns? Or is there some way to mechanically cross them over with time alignment? Or maybe it just doesn't matter at those frequencies.jh...

Well, I'm stuck on the idea that whatever it is will somehow provide/enhance space/ambience. Maybe you've found some type of HF with "traction", or something that sounds like it has HF traction, to sister with the Water Drop, or maybe you ...

Interesting results. Funny thing about that sweet spot. One thing you might try is to add the output from a 12.6V secondary to the primary side of the B+ tranny. Out of phase. This can be a resonably small transformer that could fit ...

Small-ish shop machinists and others who really benefit from the solid reliability and efficiency of 3-phase motors all use rotary converters, which run all day, every day, without complaint. Yes, they are noisy; but they will also drive some cab...

Gotta say, it's nice having great stereo front channels; but the way typical stereo is done ensures that the "sense of space" typically "stops behind the speakers". I messed around with big OB speakers for many years, and they made some nice room eff...

hey jessie-I've wondered the same thing-- and the more i end up twiddling around with it, the more I think it really either comes down to good measurements, or good listening! And in fact.. probably both in conjunction!I have a small 2 wa...

Maybe this link will work, so others can see the original WAMMs I have been referencing. Yes, they had "phase issues", but - like I've said - I have not since heard better from Wilson.http://www.stereophile.com/taxonomy/term-a/168?page=8Scroll dow...

Hi Romy,I usually manage to read you quite well, but this
direct or indirect phase constructors.
has me baffled. What do you mean, please?...

I have not read this book (the wood effect) and if you have shopping link please sent it to me.I am not sure but It seems even amplifier speaker connection is important for sound. In past I have inverted the signal phase in my DAC and also inverted sp...

I defy anyone to "hear" the relays in my TVC/attenuator. In any case, who wants to get up to change volume, or balance, or phase, or to mute the system? Does anyone remember that Lamm started out by offering VR meters on his amp, but he deleted them ...

priviet. I tried many ways. I cut the front outside faceplate open, and put a second driver on it. So that two drivers were firing onto each other face to face in one single hornthroat, rest normal single K. To my surprise the output didn't increase ...

This weekend wife told me that I should not do nothing else
but to fix my playback and this was exactly what I wanted to do. Yesterday I took
good 14 hours to play with it, moving boxes, trying to find a good
configuration, making measurements, th...
